The Blue Ridge Wine & Food Festival kicks off Wednesday April 13, 2011 and brings tons of great wine, food and opportunities for enjoying the amazing Spring weather that the High Country is experiencing. Celebrating everything having to do with wine, featured events at the Blue Ridge Wine & Food Festival Blowing Rock NC include: "Uncork" the festival, the Grand Wine Tasting, Fire on the Rock Chef’s Challenge, Wine Seminars, Cooking Classes and Winemaker Dinners at some of Blowing Rock’s award winning restaurants.
The Blowing Rock Blue Ridge Wine & Food Festival will also feature a "Meet and Greet" with food critics, authors and wineries. At the Hayes Performing Arts Center there will also be special entertainment including Chuckleball, a musical sports revue, and Ensemble Stage is hosting a Vintage Murder Mystery. Stroll through the Village of Blowing Rock and enjoy visiting the numerous businesses that dot Main Street and Downtown Blowing Rock. There will also be a gallery stroll, an art competition, the Bartender’s Brawl and "Dig Into Local" an event sponsored by the NC Department of Agriculture.
The most important event, the Grand Wine tasting takes place on Sunday under the main tent and features a wide vareity of wines not only from North Carolina, but across the country and world.
