Historic Beaufort

After spending a few days across the bay on Hilton Head Island, head to the smaller, more historic town of Beaufort. Beaufort SC has many Attractions, including Boat Tours, the Shrimp Festival in October every year, and renowned Art; the city is also known for its History. Soon after many attempts at colonization in the early 1700s, Beaufort started to create its own Low Country Economy, building from the bottom up; there are still a few of the popular antebellum structures left. These Historic Sites have created some amazing Things to see while stopping in for the day or even staying at one of the Bed and Breakfasts for the weekend.

Take a Tour and learn about Beaufort SC and how the city is where it is now. Beaufort has been named by many sources as the “Best Small Southern Town” as well as a “Top 25 Small City Arts Destination.” While visiting the area you and your family may enjoy it enough to look into Real Estate. If so, check out a Historic Home for Sale or even invest into a B&B for Sale.

Beaufort’s History is taken very seriously in its own region, as a few hundred acres have been designated a National Historic Landmark. The city provides a History Society as well as the History Association. The History Association is a private, non-profit organization that owns and operates all of the Beaufort Historic Sites, and maintains and preserves all of the state’s History. After taking a Tour, and before you head back to Hilton Head Island or whichever South Carolina Town it is that you are retreating to, take the evening to have a nice family dinner at that perfect Restaurant.
