Boone’s Applebee’s to Host Humane Society Pancake Breakfast on March 27th

As you’ve probably been seeing on the different views from the Banner Elk Web Cam, Blowing Rock Web Cam, Beech Mountain Cam, Sugar Mountain Cams, and the other Mountain Cams in our Directory of North Carolina Web Cams, this winter has been particularly harsh and nowhere have the effects of the cold weather been felt more than at the Watauga County Humane Society. The Humane Society of Boone is currently in the process of building a new shelter on a completely new site and much of its resources are being used for this purpose. With the harsh weather this past season, they have been asking for food donations, blanket donations, and, of course, monetary donations. One way that you can give back to the community is through donations to the WHS and by attending the WHS fundraiser events that take place annually. One such event, The Watauga Humane Society Pancake Benefit at Applebee’s Restaurant, began last October with Boone’s Applebee’s hosting the pancake breakfast fundraiser. Restaurant managers made the event a semi-annual one, in which the restaurant helps to raise funds through donations and then donates all of the left over food. The next Applebee’s Watauga Humane Society Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for March 27th. Serving begins at 7:30 a.m. and Watauga Humane Society board members will serve up plates of pancakes and sausage with your choice of orange juice or coffee. Plates are a minimum $7 donation; the event is scheduled to last until 10:00 a.m.

You can purchase tickets for this fun event at the Humane Society in Boone located at 200 Casey Lane, and at Bare Essentials Natural Market on Boone Heights Drive. Tickets are also available on site. For more information on this Boone NC Event, contact Claudia Strickland at 828-963-4649. Pet food donations will gladly be accepted at the pancake breakfast, in addition to donations for the cost of the plate. The Human Society in Boone is open Tuesday-Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can contact the shelter at 828-264-7865 or visit their website HERE.
