This Saturday, September 25, 2010, the Ashe County Arts Council will be hosting Art on the Mountain in West Jefferson, where one of our NC Webcams is located. This extensive craft show will feature the works of over 20 local artists and will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the gymnasium of the old West Jefferson School.
A far cry from its humble beginnings as a sidewalk art sale, Art on the Mountain now features a huge selection of fine arts and crafts, including furniture, fiber arts, glass and sterling silver jewelry, cornhusk dolls, ornaments, stoneware and pottery, photography, quilts, and virtually any kind of craft you can imagine. This event is a fantastic way for local artists to gain exposure and a great place to pick up gifts for the quickly approaching holiday season.
