RIDE INTO SUMMER

Beginning the summer of 2013, Beech Mountain Resort will offer many new amenities. The most noticeable of these additions will be continued expansion of our mountain bike trails. These trails will cover a wide range of skill levels, challenging riders from novice to pro. The trails, scenic lift rides, and Beech Tree Bar and Grille will be open this summer every Friday from noon to 6pm,  and from 10am until 6pm every Saturday and Sunday from June 7 through Sept. 29.

NEW BIKE SHOP

Beech Mountain Resort and Boone-based Magic Cycles have partnered! Magic Cycles will open a full-service bike shop, with a full line of rental bikes. Their new shop will be located inside Ski Beech Sports, which is located across from the Beech Tree Bar and Grille adjacent to the bike lifts.

Bike lift prices for this season are as follows:
All Day $30
Single Ride $10
Season Pass $200

DISC GOLF!

BMR will now offer an 18-hole disc golf course. This one-of-a-kind course will be designed and built by Pat Farrell of Disconcepts. Innova discs will be available for purchase in Ski Beech Sports.

LIVE MUSIC ALL SUMMER

If you're more into the music scene, Beech Mountain Resort will also host a summer music series. Live music will be offered on various dates throughout the season. Please continue to check our website for an updated schedule of events and artists.

MONSTER ENERGY RACE SERIES

The Monster Energy Race Series returns to Beech Mountain Resort with three downhill races and one dual slalom. These events will be sanctioned by USA Cycling and will provide more prizes and overall series winners. The dates are as follows: Dual Slalom race on July 20 and Downhill races on July 21, August 18, and September 28. In conjunction with the July 20th event, Beech Mountain will hold their third annual Bikes, Brews and Views, including beer tasting and live music.

BIKES, BREWS 'N' VIEWS

The third annual Bikes, Brews 'n' Views Festival at Beech Mountain Resort is expanding into a three-day weekend of events in 2013.

The beer festival remains the centerpiece of the activities and takes place on Saturday, July 20, in conjunction with a dual slalom mountain bike competition. However, the weekend's festivities now begin Friday evening, July 19, with live music at the resort.

Furthermore, the resort celebrates the grand opening of its public mountain biking park and its new disc golf course all weekend long. Chairlift access to the public biking trails and the Town of Beech Mountain's Emerald Outback trails will be available all three days.

On Sunday, there will also be other activities such as an inflatable kids village and youth bike rodeo.

The Bikes, Brews 'n' Views beer festival was held the past two summers in conjunction with the USA Cycling Mountain Biking Gravity National Championships. Although those USAC national championships will not take place this summer, the resort is holding a dual slalom competition that will be easily accessible for patrons of the beer festival.

Hours for the Saturday beer fest are 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and it will be held on the ice skating rink in the heart of the ski resort's Alpine Village. New this year is a contest for best beer, which will be judged by the patrons. The winning beer will become the highlighted beer during the 2013-14 ski season at Beech Mountain Resort.

"We received such positive feedback the last two years from the beer festival and the biking atmosphere," said Talia Freeman, marketing director for Beech Mountain Resort. "So, we decided to take it to another level for 2013. By combining the beer festival with the grand opening of our mountain biking park and our disc golf course, we expect an even bigger turnout this summer."
